About the event

Why does the same grape taste vibrant and racy in one glass, yet rich and powerful in another? The answer lies not just in the vineyard, but in the climate that shapes it.

Comparing Climates is an introductory fine wine tasting designed for curious drinkers who want to understand why grape varietals express themselves so differently across the world. From cool, marginal regions to sun-soaked climates, this relaxed yet educational evening will explore how temperature, sunlight, rainfall and growing conditions influence aroma, structure, alcohol and ageing potential in wine.

After a welcome aperitif, your host will guide you through 8 carefully selected wines, tasted side by side to highlight contrast and comparison. Expect familiar grape varietals presented in unexpected ways, alongside a few thought-provoking examples that challenge assumptions and sharpen your palate.

Classic wine regions will feature, but the focus of the evening is on style over status — learning…
